DETAILS:               21 HOURS PER WEEK, Contract 9 Months

START DATE:        July, 2018

REPORTS TO: ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­      Principal Investigator, Dr. Mary Fox

This position is funded by a grant from the Ontario Ministry of Research, Innovation & Science. The grant consists of large survey of hospital nurses’ opinions on their working conditions and resources, the care they provide to older people, and their jobs, roles and working relationships. The position involves analyzing survey data and preparing manuscripts for publication


Working under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator at York University, the Research Assistant or Associate will:

  • Analyze survey data
  • Assist in weekly management of all research activities
  • Carry out literature reviews where applicable
  • Attend research team meetings and record and distribute minutes
  • Assist as a co-author with the preparation of publications
  • Assist in preparing a final report for funding body
  • Other related activities at the discretion of the PI


The ideal candidate has

  • Graduate training in a health or related discipline
  • Evidence of writing for publication
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of, and prior experience with SPSS or SAS
  • A high level of motivation, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Excellent administrative, time management, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

DETAILS: This is a 9-month, limited term contract position of 21 hours/ week.
